Elliott Avent

Head Coach: North Carolina State University

In 18 years as head baseball coach at NC State, Elliott Avent has molded the Wolfpack into one of the nation's best and most consistent programs. Starting with his hiring in 1996, Avent has taken the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament in 13 of the last 18 seasons, and 10 of the last 12. Avent captured both ACC and National Coach of the Year honors in 2003.

The 2014 NC State baseball squad saw seven players taken in the MLB First-Year Player Draft, tied for the third-most all-time at NC State. Carlos Rodon and Trea Turner became the Wolfpack's first-ever three-time All-Americans and gave State a pair of first round picks for the first time in program history. Andrew Knizner earned Freshman All-America honors and a spot on the All-ACC third team. Brett Austin joined Turner and Rodon on the All-ACC first team.

In 2013, the Wolfpack returned to Omaha for the first time since 1968 and the second time in program history. Avent was named the 2013 ABCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for his efforts.

Chris Hart

Assistant Coach: North Carolina State University

Chris Hart, a former infielder and catcher at Florida State, is in his ninth season with the NC?State baseball program, his seventh as an on-field member of the coaching staff, and his sixth as a full-time assistant coach. Hart spent the 2007 season as the Wolfpack's volunteer assistant coach, and the two years prior to that as the program's director of baseball operations. Hart coaches the hitters, infielders and catchers.

Hart became the program's lead recruiter in 2010 and produced immediate results on the recruiting trail, signing one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. Among the 13 heralded newcomers on the NC State roster that fall were Brett Austin, a supplemental first-round draft pick and the highest-drafted recruit to attend NC State in 31 years; Carlos Rodon, the 2011 North Carolina High School Player of the Year and a 16th-round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers; and Trea Turner, a slick infield prospect who went in the 20th round to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Baseball America ranked the Wolfpack's 2010-11 class No. 4 in the country.

Since Hart has been a part of the on-field coaching staff, the Wolfpack has produced nine position players who received All-ACC honors and 11 who have signed professional contracts.

Scott Foxhall

Assistant Coach: North Carolina State University

NC State baseball named Scott Foxhall its new pitching coach on June 30, 2014.

Foxhall joins the NC State staff from Auburn, where he spent the 2014 season as pitching coach and served as the architect of Auburn's most recent recruiting classes. His last four classes have been ranked in the Top 25 nationally, peaking with a ninth-place ranking ahead of the 2013 season. Last year, Foxhall pieced together the 13th-best class in the NCAA.

One of those young talents, Auburn's Keegan Thompson, finished the year as a Freshman All-American pitcher and All-SEC performer.
