Located on the campus of Florida State University, the stadium has provided over two million fans with the feeling of having "the best seat in the house" to watch the fi nest in college baseball action. On April 2, 2005 Florida State University dedicated the fi eld at Dick Howser to current head coach Mike Martin. Florida State's skipper for the last 28 years now coaches on the diamond bearing his name, Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

Florida State's players and coaches enjoy the convenience and luxury of a clubhouse and locker room currently located behind the Seminole dugout. The Griffin Family Clubhouse was moved to the first base side for the 2004 season as the construction process was completed. The main locker room was described by former Seminole and 2004 World Series Champion Doug Mientkiewicz as being 'better than 95% of the big league clubhouses' he has seen. The locker room contains a personalized wooden locker for each player, a separate locker room for the Seminole coaches and trainers, and a video area where FSU players and coaches can watch film.

The stadium also houses all of the baseball offi ces. The coaches' offi ces look over the stadium behind home plate. There is also a weight room and training area adjacent to the clubhouse. Each of the areas were

What they're saying...

Chip and Crew,
We wanted to take the time to let you know how much Adam appreciated the Advanced Baseball Camp last week. Adam received a lot of very good instruction, and really enjoyed your discussions Chip! You all run a very fine program, and just to let you know, Adam came back to a tournament Saturday-Sunday this weekend after the camp, and went 6-10, .800 OBP, 10 RBI's in 3 games, with 5 doubles to the fence at the Cleveland Indians facility in Winter Haven! He was on fire, and we could tell that you all made a strong impression on our young man.

Eric, Lu Ann and Adam Pendleton

I just wanted share something with you and the staff.

My son Philip, is attending the Mike Martin Baseball Camp as we speak. I've gone to Osceola Hall a couple of times this week and have been extremely impressed with the manners of ALL the young men attending. I've been introduced to several of the campers and I've gotten good, firm hand shakes from even the 11 year olds, doors held open for me, and darn near every camper that passes by me or anyone else in some of the tight hallways, says excuse me as he passes by.

I'm convinced that being on a team and learning good sportsmanship plays a huge role in the manners these young men have demonstrated.

They should all be commended on how great they've acted while away from their parents, and their parents need to know this too. I'm a mother of four, and sometimes we don't see this from our own children, so it's important that parents know their kids act right when they're away.

Thanks to all the hard work that went into this camp. We look forward to going again next year.

Kay Hough
