FGCU wins back to back Atlantic Sun titles.

Lead by three time Atlantic Sun Coach of the year Dave Tollett the Eagles reclaimed their dominance in the Atlantic Sun Conference for a third straight year in a row going 25-5 in the conference and 38-20 overall. Since going to a one-divison format in 1999, the Eagles become the 1st A-Sun team to win three consecutive regular season titles in its first three years in the conference. The Eagles were lead on the mound by Junior left handed pitcher and first round draft pick by the Chicago White Sox (13th Overall) in the 2010 Amateur Major League Baseball Draft. Sale was named the National Player of the Year by Collegiate Baseball, First Team All American by Ping!Baseball, First Team All American by Yahoo!, First Team All American by Baseball America and was named a finalist for the 2010 Golden Spikes Award.

This past season the Eagles won games against nonconference foes including Oklahoma State, Wichita State, Clemson, FAU, and FIU.

The Eagles finsihed up third in the conference in hitting with a team average of .334, first in the conference in pitching with a team ERA with a 5.33, and first in the conference in fielding percentage.

Camp Details

Join the coaches at FGCU for our Advanced Defensive Skills Camp. This camp will focus on athletes who want to improve their pitching, catching, infield and outfield abilities.

Our camp is designed to fine tune the serious infielder and help them take their game to the next level. Players will learn groundball technique, while focusing on forehands, backhands, slow roller technique, double play drills, pop up communication, tag plays along with help in developing both a mental and situational plan for the game as the continue to progress to the next level. Reminder: if you are choosing to attend as a Infielder please make sure you choose the Infield position you are wishing to work on in the Primary Position check box of the registration page.

This camp is designed to educate and drill the serious player and to develop them into the best possible pitcher he can be. We will discuss, throwing programs, arm care exercises, mental approach to the game, pregame routines, bullpen sessions, types of pitches, flexibility, controlling runners, the fundamentals of pitchers fielding practice, mechanics of the delivery from the windup and stretch and proper weightlifting techniques. Catchers need to bring their own catching equipment. Catchers will learn the art of the catching stances, receiving, blocking, throwing, bunts, tag plays, and pop-up. When you register, be sure to indicate you are a pitcher or a catcher. Reminder: if you are choosing to attend the Pitcher or Catcher session please make sure you choose the position (Pitcher or Catcher) you are wishing to work on in the Primary Position check box of the registration page.

Our camp is designed to fine tune the serious outfielder and help them take their game to the next level. Players will learn groundball technique, fly ball technique, routes, jumps, reads, footwork, communication and throwing as well as developing both a mental and situational plan for the game as the continue to progress to the next level.

Eagle Baseball Advanced Offensive ID Skills Camp
Join the coaches at FGCU and learn the latest in Hitting techniques during this two day camp at the beautiful Swanson Stadium Baseball facilities. Instructors leading this camp will focus on preparing hitters to compete at a high level. Learn the basics of being a successful hitter with lessons on mechanics of the swing, hitting and bunting drills, base-running lessons, developing a plan, and mental skills to take to each at bat.

General Information

This camp is designed for players grades 7-12

Players Receive:
2 days of professional instruction and evaluation
Opportunity to meet and learn from the Florida Gulf Coast University Baseball coaching staff
Camp T-shirt

Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided.

Camp will be conducted at:
Swanson Stadium

The campus is serviced by I-75 and is just east of the highway between exits 123 from the south and 128 from the north.

From south: Exit 123 - turn right (east) onto Corkscrew Road. Go ½ mile and turn left onto Ben Hill Griffith Road. Go 2 miles to the stop light and turn right into campus.

From north: Exit 128 - turn left (east) onto Alico Road. Go ¾ mile and turn right onto Ben Hill Griffith Road. Go 2 miles to stop light and turn left into campus.

Once on campus turn left at the first stop sign. Go ½ mile and turn left at the next stop sign. Go 1-block and turn right at the next stop sign. Road end at Alico Arena and Swanson Stadium

Meals at Camp

Lunch will not be provided at this event. Please pack a lunch for yourself.

Camp Accommodations

"This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations."

Miscellaneous Camp Info

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".

We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid.

The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our national locations. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Q. What do I bring to Camp?

A. Campers will need to bring cleats, tennis shoes, glove, baseball hat, baseball pants, bat and batting gloves recommended but not required

 

Q. Where and when is check in?

A. Check in will always be 40 minutes before the camp starts and it will be held in front of the FGCU's Swanson baseball stadium.
