Non-Baseball Items to Bring to Camp:

  • Good attitude!
  • Clothes: shirts, shorts, baseball pants, extra clothes to lounge around in at night, socks, personal undergarments - REMEMBER YOU ARE HERE FOR 5 DAYS/4 NIGHTS - THERE IS NO PLACE TO DO LAUNDRY - BRING ENOUGH TO LAST YOU ALL WEEK
  • Personal hygiene items: toothpaste, toothbrush, shower soap, shampoo, cream rinse, DEODERANT, contact solution, etc
  • LINENS ARE PROVIDED (sheets, pillow, pillow case, towel, washcloth) BUT you may bring extra pillows, sleeping bag, etc. Whatever you feel will make you more comfortable.
  • PHONES: Coaches staying in the dorms will have a cell phone, however, sending one with the child is fine. Just make sure they are responsible enough NOT to lose it. They will not be able to carry it with them during camp. They will have access to it during breakfast, lunch, dinner and after camp in the evenings.
  • VIDEO GAMES - parents, this is up to you. The campers will not be back to their rooms until 8:45 - 9 pm each night. We ask that "lights are out" by 10 p.m. Again, this decision is up to you, the parent.

SNACKS: There are vending machines at the dorms however, it will save YOU (parent) money if snacks are sent. There is not a refrigerator in the rooms, but coolers are allowed and ice can easily be found. The kids do get hungry at night so snacks are always a welcome treat.

MONEY: The coaches do allow the kids to order pizza at night after camp. The coaches will coordinate this but the camper is responsible to pay. This is always a great "bonding" time for the campers and coaches.

CARDS: What's camp without a card game at night?

Alarm Clock - this will help the coaches in the mornings.

WSU Camp FAQs

Q. What should I bring to my baseball camp or showcase camp?

A. Many times the camp itself will have a recommended list of items to bring to camp, but here are a few things to help you. All position players should bring a bat and glove. Look like a baseball player by wearing a hat, jersey, belt, baseball socks, etc. You need to look the part. If you are a catcher, have your own gear. Hitters, bring your bat and helmet just in case. Don't expect to use the college's equipment and you must be ready to go! Borrow something from a teammate or coach if you do not have one.

Q. Refund Policy

A. We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection"

What they're saying...

I attended a week long WSU baseball camp in 1983 with coach Stevenson... It is amazing that I just brought my son Chance to attend...

Anyway, he enjoyed the camp, the coaches and it was very beneficial for him... Baseball is his passion and this just helped to feed that passion.

David and Chance Pitcock

Russell, Ks

To the coaching staff and camp support,
Thanks for all of your efforts at your recent baseball camp Aug. 3rd - 4th. My son Connor was in attendance and had a ball. You guys did a great job to facilitate the kids and the quality of ball players was great. Look forward to maybe crossing paths again in the future. God Bless!
