2013 Jim Morris Summer Exposure Camp

The Summer Exposure Camp is intended for any and all participants in 9th-12th grade.
The camp will be led by Coach Morris and his coaching staff at the University of Miami.
Participants will be instructed in all major aspects of the game: hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching. Campers will also be able to participate in a pro style workout as well as competitive games through out the two day camp.
The numbers for this camp will be capped at 80 campers, so please register now!
The purpose of our camp is to make every individual a better ball
player. We successfully accomplish this by building on strengths
as well as recognizing and improving areas of weakness. Players
also grow in sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship skills.
The camp uses the facilities of the University of Miami Mark Light
Field. Pitching machines, batting cages and a speed gun are used
during the camp.
We educate our campers in drug awareness and academic topics
as part of the program. Qualified guest speakers will be invited to
lecture on various important subjects of interest.
Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided.

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Directions to Mark Light Field
From the City and Points North:
Take I-95 South until it becomes U.S.1. Continue south for about 5.5 miles to SW 57th Ave. (Red Road). Turn right onto Red Road and make another immediate right turn onto Ponce De Leon Blvd. At the first light, turn left onto San Amaro Drive. Mark Light Field is located on the corner of Ponce de Leon and San Amaro Drive.
From Rt. 826 (Palmetto Expressway) and Points West:
Take Rt. 826 and exit Miller Drive (SW 56th St.). Turn left and continue until it dead ends at the University of Miami and San Amaro Drive. Turn right onto San Amaro. Follow San Amaro ½ mile. Mark Light Field will be on your left.
From Miami International Airport:
Take exit marked Coral Gables/LeJeune Road. Exit onto LeJeune and head south until it interjects Ponce de Leon Blvd. (just before the Metro Rail). Turn right and go 1.7 miles to San Amaro Drive. Mark Light Field is located on the corner of Ponce de Leon and San Amaro Drive.
The University of Miami requires a parking permit for everyone, Monday
through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; unless the vehicle is parked at a
parking meter, in which case the meter must be paid for the entire time
the vehicle is parked. There are daily and weekly parking passes that
are available via cash or credit card payment at vending machines in
the Ponce de Leon Garage.
Meals will NOT be provided for this event. You may bring your own lunch or purchase one at the concession stand.
We will be selling University of Miami Baseball Merchandise at this event.
If for any reason you need to cancel camp there will be a $75.00 cancellation fee.
