UNLV Infield Renovation!
Infield renovations totaling close to $25,000 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium were completed this week and UNLV baseball will have a new infield when it opens its 2008 season in late February. This is the first major renovation to Earl E. Wilson Stadium at Roger Barnson Field since the facility was expanded to a 3,000-seat stadium that debuted on Jan. 29, 1994. A gift of $1.2 million was used for the construction and a total contribution of $6.6 million was given from the estate of Earl and Hazel Wilson. The Rebels began playing on the original diamond on April 1, 1973 and the field was named after the late Roger Barnson, a former UNLV assistant athletic director, in 1980. UNLV picked to finish fifth!
LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West Conference in 2008 as the league released is preseason poll on Tuesday, as voted on by the seven MWC head coaches and a select media panel. Junior catcher Michael Brenly was the lone Rebel voted to the preseason All-MWC squad, as the returning starting catcher played in 54 games in 2007, making 47 starts and hitting .278 with three home runs and 33 RBI. |
What should I bring to my baseball camp or showcase camp? Many times the camp itself will have a recommended list of items to bring to camp, but here are a few things to help you. All position players should bring a bat and glove. Look like a baseball player by wearing a hat, jersey, belt, baseball socks, etc. You need to look the part. If you are a catcher, have your own gear. Hitters, bring your bat and helmet just in case. Don't expect to use the college's equipment and you must be ready to go! Borrow something from a teammate or coach if you do not have one. Bring a snack just in case, you never know how long you will have to wait to train, get seen, etc. What is your refund policy? We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
