Three Red Raiders and two Signees drafted on day two

Three Red Raiders and two signees highlighted the second day of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player draft for Texas Tech.
Junior right-hander Nate Karns was the first Red Raider taken on day-two of the draft as he was selected in the 12th-round by the Washington Nationals and as the No. 352 overall pick. Karns just completed his second season at Texas Tech and has compiled a 7-11 record along with a 6.90 earned run average. He transferred to Tech from North Carolina State prior to the 2007 season.
Senior right-hander AJ Ramos, who just capped off a strong career, was the next player taken in the draft as he was selected by the Florida Marlins as the No. 638 overall pick in 21st round. Ramos went 16-16 during his four-year career and posted a 5.53 career earned run average. He logged over 254 innings pitched in 57 games and made 44 starts.
Senior first baseman Chris Richburg was selected shortly after Ramos as he was nabbed in the 23rd round by the Cincinnati Reds (No. 689 overall). Richburg was a First-Team All-Big 12 selection this season after posting a .341 batting average along with 14 home runs and 60 RBIs.
Two Texas Tech signees were taken during today's draft action as Jay Johnson was taken in the 25th round by Baltimore and Brandon Petite was taken in the 30th round by Houston. Johnson is a sophomore left-handed pitcher at Lethbridge C.C. in Alberta, Canada. Petite is a right-handed pitcher at Vauxhall Academy (high school) in Vauxhall, Nova Scotia, Canada.
With the drafting of the three current players, Texas Tech has now had 92 players taken all-time in the MLB Draft.

TTU Camp FAQs
Q. What is your refund policy?
A. We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid.
The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps, clinics or prospect events. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
Q. How do I prepare for a baseball camp or showcase?
A. Be in good physical and mental shape. As always you should be eating well with a proper diet for a athlete. Have your arm in shape and ready to go. Go into it with a positive attitude. Attending a college camp is a terrific opportunity to be evaluated by a college coaching staff and you want to be prepared.
