Morris Picks Up Three More Honors

Kansas State junior pitcher A.J. Morris earned three more postseason accolades on Thursday as he was named a First Team All-American by Rivals.com and PING!Baseball, as well as being named a First Team American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Midwest Region pick.

The two all-American distinctions push Morris' total to four after being honored by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while he becomes the second player in the last three seasons to earn ABCA All-Region honors after former Wildcat Daniel Edwards was a second-team selection in 2007 and 2008.

Morris was joined on the Rivals.com team by the organization's National Pitcher of the Year Stephen Strasburg (San Diego State), as well as starting pitchers Mike Leake (Arizona State) and Louis Coleman (LSU).

The quartet also made up four of the eight pitchers named to Ping!Baseball's All-American team. Ryan Berry (Rice), Daniel Bibona (UC Irvine), Alex Wimmers (Ohio State) and Kyle Gibson (Missouri) were also named first-team pitchers.

Morris became the first player since Pat Maloney in 2002 to earn First Team All-Midwest Region honors, while he is the first starting pitcher in school history to earn the nod from the ABCA.

With Morris' selection to the first team, the junior will now be considered for ABCA All-America honors when the committee meets this week in Omaha, Neb., during the 2009 College World Series.

KSU Camp FAQs

Q. What is your refund policy?

A. We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".

We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid.

The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps, clinics or prospect events. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Q. What should I bring to my baseball camp or showcase camp?

A. Many times the camp itself will have a recommended list of items to bring to camp, but here are a few things to help you. All position players should bring a bat and glove. Look like a baseball player by wearing a hat, jersey, belt, baseball socks, etc. You need to look the part. If you are a catcher, have your own gear. Hitters, bring your bat and helmet just in case. Don't expect to use the college's equipment and you must be ready to go! Borrow something from a teammate or coach if you do not have one.
