Tom Walter Fall Baseball Exposure Camp

Players will receive skill instruction and will play in games throughout the course of the day and have the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the Wake Forest University staff and other college coaches as well. Players have been signed to a scholarship from this camp in years past, and our staff is hopeful that will continue every year we hold the Tom Walter Baseball Camps.

Phil Negus Agrees to Terms with Chicago White Sox

Wake Forest junior right-handed pitcher Phil Negus has agreed to terms with the Chicago White Sox, foregoing his final season of eligibility. Also, 2009 recruit Jacob Johnson has signed with the Cincinnati Reds and will not be attending Wake Forest.
A native of Milford, Mass., Negus was drafted by the White Sox in the 18th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Negus is currently playing with the Bristol White Sox, the rookie level team for Chicago.
Negus appeared in 17 games during the 2009 season, including 10 starts. He compiled a record of 2-6 with a 9.05 earned run average in 56 2/3 innings. Negus struck out 40 batters and walked 24 during his junior campaign.
In his three years at Wake Forest, Negus made 66 appearances, with 11 of those as a starter. He posted a career record of 7-10 with a 7.39 ERA in 126 2/3 innings. Negus also notched three saves during his collegiate career.

Tom Walter Baseball Camps on the campus of Wake Forest University in beautiful Winston-Salem, North Carolina are dedicated to providing a baseball camp that is both instructional and information along with creating a great atmosphere to learn!
The coaching staff here at Wake Forest prides itself on teaching the game of baseball to players of all ages and ability levels. Our camps range from two-day instructional specialty camps, to five-week hitting sessions. All camps are taught by our coaching staff and players. The mechanics and drills that are taught at our camps are used with our college players. We are determined to provide the best possible learning experience for our campers.

Our camps are held at beautiful Gene Hooks Stadium here at Wake Forest. We have indoor and outdoor batting cages that are used for teaching and drill work. All other instruction is done on the field. Our camps are a hands-on experience for the baseball player.
Our camps range in ages and we should have a program to fit your needs. If you do not see a date that works for you at this time check back to the site as we add new sessions often.

WFU Camp FAQs
Q. Where and when is check in?
A. Check in will be held at Gene Hooks Stadium before the first day of camp. The time of check in begins 45 minutes before the starting time of camp. The time of camp is subject to change depending on the starting time of the camp.
Q. What forms are required in order for my child to participate?
A. The forms required for baseball camp is a registration form (online or sent in) and a medical release form. The camp has purchased supplemental insurance for each participant. Minor injuries are treated on-site. Any serious injuries will be treated at nearby Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
