Camp Description


The Sun Devil Baseball Academy presents the 2013 Sun Devil Summer Skills Camp & Showcase! This three-day experience will provide high-quality instruction that covers every aspect of the game. Campers will enjoy instructional sessions and scrimmage games to showcase their knowledge and skills throughout the day, while also learning about the college baseball experience.

Headquartered at beautiful Winkles Field-Packard Stadium-Brock Ballpark, the 2013 Sun Devil Summer Skills Camp & Showcase is a great opportunity to learn from the best college program in the nation. From hitting to defense to the mental side of baseball, this camp will help you improve your skills no matter what position you play. This camp is designed for players looking to improve their skills and those who are looking to reach the collegiate level and beyond.

Two pricing options are available. Commuter Campers can register for $399. For those wishing to register and stay overnight with us, camp costs $699, which includes meals, lodging, and transportation to and from the stadium and the hotel (additional charge for airport transportation).

General Information


The 2013 Sun Devil Summer Camp & Showcase will begin on July 16th promptly at 9:00am and end on July 18th at approximately 3:00pm. Camp will run daily from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Overnight Option:
The Sun Devil Baseball Academy has partnered with the Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa for our 2013 summer baseball camps.
For an additional fee, campers will receive supervised hotel accommodations, meals from the morning of the 16th until the end of camp, and transportation between the hotel and stadium. Out-of-Town overnighters should arrive at the hotel on July 15th between the hours of 3:00pm - 7:00pm and plan to depart on July 18th after 5pm. Airport transportation for overnighters is available upon request for an extra $10 fee each way. Campers are responsible for their meal on the first evening. Hotel restaurant and local delivery options are available upon check-in.

Beat the Heat:
With the Arizona sun, it is highly important to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. We will insure that every camper is playing under safe conditions. To ensure camper safety, water and cool down areas will be setup in several locations, and instructional stations will occasionally be indoors in order to minimize exposure to the summer sun. An athletic trainer will be present at all times.

The camp will be headquartered at Packard Stadium, one of the top collegiate baseball facilities in the nation. Campers will use the ASU main and practice fields, bullpens, covered hitting facility, team meeting rooms and sports medicine facility. Packard is located at the SW corner of Rio Salado Pkwy and Rural Rd in Tempe. Nearby baseball fields may also be utilized.

Items to bring:
Bat, batting gloves, glove
Baseball pants & hat
Non-cleated tennis shoes or baseball turf shoes
Catchers should bring their own gear
Please label all personal items

Additional Information:
An ASU athletic trainer will be present during all activity.
Water will be provided continually throughout camp day.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay, watch camp, and sit-in on camp meetings.

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Camp Check-in


Camper check-in will begin approximately 30 minutes before camp begins on the first day at Packard Stadium. Camp will begin promptly at 9am. Camp payment needs to be received prior to camp participation.

Parking Information


Parking is available in the Packard Stadium parking lot on the ASU campus. For those who wish to park for the duration of camp, Campus parking is requiring the purchase of a weekly parking pass, available during registration. If purchased, passes can be picked up upon check-in on the first day. For those simply dropping off and picking up, a pass will not be necessary.



Commuter Campers will be served lunch each day. Overnight campers will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Day 1 and 2, and breakfast & lunch on Day 3.

Airport Pick-up / Drop-off Information


Commuter campers are responsible for their own transportation to/from camp each day.

For those who choose the overnight option, transportation from the hotel to the stadium will be provided. For any camper needing transportation to and from Sky Harbor Airport, an additional charge of $10 each way is required, payable upon pickup. Please contact Steven Kirkman at with flight information if transportation is needed.



A camp store with ASU baseball merchandise will be available at Packard Stadium each camp day.

Miscellaneous Information


What if I have to cancel a Camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
